To use a credit or debit card to shop on line you need all the long number on the front plus the security number on the back. So really one your card is been stopped, it doesn't matter as it can't be used to predict the next card you receive. You will find that the first 4-8 digits are the same as they denote the card type and the card provider but nothing more.
A credit card number is 16 digits long, consisting of a 6 digit BIN (Bank Identification Number) and a 10 digit account number (the last digit of which is a 'modulus' or check-digit.
The first 6 digits will be the same, the rest will change.
we are now in computer age, when computer hacker can penetrate into the system it is very dangerous.in two weeks time you can have replacement of the card after the reporting.
